Chitra Ganesh is currently included in the 2024 Bangkok Art Biennale, Nurture Gaia at the National Gallery of Thailand, through 25 February 2025. The immersive installation at the National Gallery of Thailand, The Thick of Time, includes several large-scale prints created over the past 12 years alongside the artist's latest animation, Coherence. The works are rich with symbolic imagery, drawing inspiration from a range of aesthetic traditions, including comics, mythology, science fiction, and psychedelic poster art. Ganesh's works explore a sense of fragmentation and dissonance that speaks to contemporary realities of conflict, power, and desire. The artist draws upon mythic forms of figuration and powerful female protagonists to express agency and self determination.
Bangkok Art Biennale spans across various venues over a period of 4 months and helps transform the bustling city of Bangkok into a lively hub that celebrates art, creativity, and culture.Visitors are able to immerse themselves in an array of artworks from a diverse range of artists, both local and international throughout the city, in arts and cultural spaces, iconic landmarks, temples and public spaces.
