Richard Slee's 'Work and Play' Exhibition travelling to Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery

Hales Gallery is happy to announce that Work and Play, a major exhibition of works by Richard Slee, is moving from Tullie House to Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery.

As one of Britain’s most important contemporary ceramic artists, Carlisle born Richard Slee challenges conventional notions of ceramic art. The works he produces are inspired by familiar objects in our daily lives and celebrate a love for the ‘great indoors’.

The show includes a specially commissioned work produced as part of a creative response competition for Cumbrian art students and is supported by online learning resources. A limited edition, fine press Artist’s Book Richard Slee: Means of Production, 2003 – 2013 is also available.
