Hales Gallery is pleased to announce Sebastiaan Bremer's participation in BLUEPRINT at Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York, previously at MOCA Tuscon, AZ and Kunsthal KAdE in Amersfoort. The show has also been curated by Bremer, alongside Florian Idenburg and Jing Liu of SO_IL.
BLUEPRINT is a follow-up to a show Bremer put together in 1999, in a DIY gallery in Chelsea, New York. Fifteen years later, the show's idea – of uniting a group of artists through the concept of blueprints – is revisited in this current exhibition, in which Florian Idenburg, Jing Liu and Sebastiaan Bremer have invited a group of artists and architects to look back at their practice and identify one piece that could serve as a blueprint of their mature work. The exhibition features blueprints of or based on that generative work, as well as images and projections of examples of the artist’s practice.
