Hales Gallery is pleased to announce Attention to Detail, a talk by Hew Locke on his art in public places, organised by The Public Monuments and Sculpture Association & 3rd Dimension.
The title of this talk – Attention to Detail – relates not just to the creation of the work itself, but also to the attention that the artist needs to pay to the commissioner’s brief, and to context and chosen location. Locke will give a presentation of his public works, both permanent and temporary, along with his studio-based work interrogating historic public statuary, followed by a Q&A from the audience.
