Hales Gallery is pleased to announce Andrew Bick's curation of Construction & its Shadow at the Leeds Art Gallery.
This display draws on the collections of Leeds Museums and Galleries and the Arts Council Collection to look at both the Construction and Systems groups of British artists who came to prominence in the 1950s and 60s.
Construction & its Shadow will explore the ideas and relationshipsof British Constructivist and Systems artists. Bick's inspiration for making this project comes from the re-emergence of abstract systems and constructivist tendencies in younger generations of artists.
The exhibition will run from 1 September 2010 - 31 March 2011.
