In celebration of the final week of Anwar Jalal Shemza, Heads, Hales will host an in conversation between Hammad Nasar, curator and writer, Dr Emilia Terracciano, writer and lecturer at the University of Manchester, and Haroun Hayward, artist. The conversation takes Shemza's early portraiture from the 1950s as a starting point. The panel will discuss this key period of experimentation, the evolution of Shemza's creative practice and its legacy today.
