Dialogues: Wilhelmina Barns-Graham x Haroun Hayward
5 November - 18 December 2026
Opening reception: 5 November, 6 - 8pm
Wilhelmina Barns-Graham (b. 1912 St Andrews, UK - d. 2004 St Andrews, UK) and Haroun Hayward (b. 1983, London) both approach painting not as a retreat from the visible world, but as a means of reconfiguring it. Landscape, memory, movement and sensation become starting points from which each artist develops a highly personal visual language, resistant to stylistic containment.
The exhibition brings together new works by Hayward with historic material by Barns-Graham in a visual conversation spanning from 1950s till today. The show coincides with Barns-Graham's highly anticipated retrospective, opening at Tate St Ives in late October 2026, and follows Hayward's recent solo exhibition Path Through Trees, on view at Pallant House Gallery between May-November 2026.
